First off, this place is exceptionally consistent. Second, the managers and employees are genuinely nice folks and hard workers. I've been getting big takeout orders here for a couple of years and they're just really "together" for a restaurant. The packaging is fantastic compared to a lot of other places and the wait time is pretty low considering their consistantly-packed lobby. Now the food - Bonefish is great because you can really get a healthy meal that still tastes fresh and very flavorful. I tend to judge a restaurant more on the quality of things like vegetables, and Bonefish gets all high marks in that area - they have interesting seasonal vegetables, along with a tasty medley (carrots, peppers, broccoli, squash), plain broccoli, green beans, asparagus, and some very tempting mashed potatoes. The Florida Cobb Salad is a huge favorite for my office and is intensely filling and flavorful. I can't really finish a whole one due to the generous portions of cheese, pine nuts, and grilled chicken, but it's a really wholesome meal and lunch, too. Another favorite of mine is their mango salsa with grilled fish. So tasty! It has a spicy, sweet, salty flavor that doesn't overpower what it's on at all. Also be sure to try the Ocean Trust martini - it's one of the smoothest mixed drinks I've ever had. The only possible downside is that this place is packed just about every single night - but they seem to handle the crowds fairly well. I really can't say enough in praise of this place. Great employees, great food. Bravo, bravo, bravo!

The food is good, great bar and dining atmosphere. The hostesses are not very nice. They clearly don't like their jobs. Even if you have a reservation, they're annoyed when you arrive. It's only worse if you ask for a table without a reservation. Don't bother complaining, however, because they don't care. This place is always busy, and if you don't want your table someone else is ready to take it. But....if you have all the time in the world, and no where else to go, you'll be thrilled. Nice wine selection and good mixed drinks. The Bang Bang shrimp is always a hit, and their fish tacos are a nice, light entree.

Terrible.. Terrible. Terrible.. Do I need to elaborate? The place was packed service was terrible food was NOT edible...

Overall, the fish is pretty good. Crab cakes are real lump crab. I can't say I am a big fan of the sides. Most of the veggies are drenched in butter... Order plain if you don't want a heart attack. Bang bang shrimp app is pretty good. Nice wine selection. Service hit or miss depending on waiter. Been here twice, once with terrific service and one with terrible service. Ask what is wild and fresh caught and you'll get different answers from everyone.

The staff has always been great every time we've gone and the food consistently delicious. Bang shrimp is a must try. Tonight my daughter and I had the Tokyo ahi tuna and it was excellent!! Brownie dessert was to die for too. My son LOVES the Mac n cheese but tonight got popcorn shrimp. Good stuff but it would be nice if the kids could get a side of m n cheese ... It's a staple for goodness sake.

I always heard a lot about Bonefish and how delicious it was so for my birthday I decided to have my family and boyfriends family gather to go to our first trip to Bonefish Grill. We made reservations for a Saturday night around 7 pm. Unless if you don't mind waiting 85 minutes in a small waiting area then I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND making reservations. At around 7:30 our table was finally ready to be seated. We had a party of 8 and had 2 waiters one for each end of the table. After looking over the menu we all decided to order drinks from the bar. I got the fall apple martini, apples soaked in vodka for 3 days I am totally in. This drink was delicious! I probably could've drank more haha. The only downfall was it took a while for our drinks to come. I understand that it takes a little longer to make 5 martinis but 2 of us ordered a bottle beer and a draft beer. We did not get our drinks until after the appitizers came and the waitress said that the bar was very far behind. But it was worth the wait. We then each ordered an appitizer. (we were hungry). You have to try the Bang Bang shrimp which i think is their signature appitizer. OMG it was AMAZING!! it is like this breaded shrimp in a spicy sauce. the shrimp is crispy but doesn't taste too fried. the sauce is this thick creamy based sauce that has just enough spice to it. not too much, not too little. They serve it over this shredded lettuce and I think when you eat the shrimp with some lettuce it makes the shrimp taste better. Highly recommend this appitizer. We also got Mussels Josephine. the garlic wine sauce is probably one of the best flavors i have ever tasted. you have to dip your bread in this sauce. literally you could eat spoonfuls of the sauce it is so delicious. And the amount of mussels they give you is huge! a huge bowl filled with mussels! Def a must try. Now the entrees. There is not too big of a selection to choose from and the portions are small. I would look on the website to make sure you like something on the menu although if you aren't a fan of seafood you can get a steak, chicken, or even a burger! For dinner I got the Chilean Sea Bass which was grilled and I could choose between like 4 types of sauces to put on the fish. I am picky with flavors so I stuck with the lemon butter sauce. You could choose the smaller portion or the larger portion. With my fish came au gratin potatos and I chose fresh asparagus. I never seen asparagus so big. it was cooked perfect with the right amount of seasoning and crispiness. The bass was perfect melted in my mouth. My mom got the salmon which I tasted was delicious as well. Another guest ordered one of the specials of the night which was Mahi in a sherry sauce with lobster and shrimp and OMG the Mahi tasted like steak. It was so good. The only downfall was probably with the filet another guest at the table got. It was suppsed to be a filet mignon cooked medium well. It was small, thinly sliced and cooked well done almost burnt. It also did not cut easily and was tough. I would not recommend the filet. Overall, great experience. Great food. Great drinks. I would advise to get an appitizer since the portions for the dinner entrees are smaller.

Been to the Bonefish chain a bunch of times. Very good seafood chain. Service at the Willow Grove location is better. Both locations the bar area is very lively. We usually eat in the bar area. Order: my fav to start is the bang bang shrimp and calamari. Wednesday nights has half off bang bang. My go to entree is the chilean seabass in the asian sauce with jasmine rice, so flaky and tasty. The tacos are great as well. End the meal with the key lime pie, not to sweet or tangy, the perfect blend. Had a one off night here once, the entree was overlooked. Service: the service at the Willow Grove location is better. The service here is a bit slow and not as attentive. It depends on the waiter. Overall: def a good seafood chain restaurant. You can't go wrong.

We just had a delicious "date night" dinner at Bonefish in Newtown Square. We were thoroughly enjoying our leisurely night out without kids, so imagine our surprise when we asked for the bill, and our waitress, Gretchen (who was fantastic - very courteous and accommodating) informed us that our bill had been taken care of by the manager, Felicia. Apparently Felicia was concerned because we had to wait a few extra minutes for our server to arrive, so she comped our entire dinner (apps, salads, entrees). We have been to this restaurant before and always enjoyed our meals, but we will be sure to recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and family. Thank you so much for making this a memorable night out! Lori and Jason

This is one of the best and most professionally run restaurants in the area. We spoke to the owner and he was great. Menu works for both seafood lovers and land lubbers. My gf and I highly recommend. Oh and the drinks are great!. Thank you Kevin for showing us what a truly awesome dining experience is!

I don't know why people keep giving this place good reviews. The steak was tough and dry despite ordering it cooked medium. The bang bang shrimp were soggy. My husbands lamb was tough and potatoes overcooked... This for was way you over priced ad honestly I could've eaten better at Dennys for cheaper and this really saying something

Celebrated my 2 year Wedding Anniversary here. Never been here before. It's a very good place to have dinner. Comparing to other restaurant I have been to, there isn't too many selection on the menu though.

I love bonefish! It is my favorite chain restaurant. At the edgemont location the bartender Delano is great. He was friendly, nice and was great at multi-tasking. The tuna bowl is my all time favorite and the house salad is delicious.

Very disappointed with the service my boyfriend and I received. We've been to Bonefish many times, but tonight was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Waiter was extremely rude, I'm assuming because we were the youngest couple in the restaurant. Laughed at us when we were ready to order our entrees with our drinks. Took him 10 minutes to bring me sugar for my iced tea. Dropped the check off directly after serving us our meal. Came back twice to see if we had paid yet. Cleared the table while we were still seated. We waited 30 minutes for a table only to be rushed out after being seated for 20 minutes and served cold food. If you want to feel like cattle being herded to an exit sign, visit Bonefish Grill!

Bonefish has been a favorite of mine for a couple years now. I've gone many times for dinner and for brunch and have always had a great experience. The manager at Edgemont Bonefish is very friendly and usually checks in to make sure we're happy. He is awesome and willing to go above and beyond to make sure you have a great meal. This location has always had great waitstaff in my experience. They're very knowledgeable even about new menu items and specials. The food is always delicious and there's something for everyone! My favorite part has to be the bartender, Delano! He makes the best drinks around and always has a great recommendation if you're not sure what you want.

I had the the appetizer Beef and Ginger Potstickers for the last time. Very disappointed! Instead of their usual tasty and spicy quality, which was really good, someone had the bright idea and added GARLIC DILL PICKLE, you know, the kind that come from a barrel in a deli. TERRIBLE!!! If someone had a problem with them being spicy in the first place, ask them to hold the peppers. Spicy is what made them different and really good. Another thing, don't add pumpkin seeds to salads unless it is stated on the menu. Some people are allergic to them! Even when I have asked to hold them, they can't seem to get the concept. I had to send my salad back twice.

The atmosphere was very nice, the restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. We started with bang bang shrimp which was very good (not as good as Maggio's in Southampton, Pa) but worth a try. I ordered the filet and crab cake. I found the steak to be done just as i had requested and full of flavor. The crab cake was also very tasty. The dipping sauce made it that much better. The sweet potato mashed was great. I also had dessert which was ok. It was a berry cobbler cake and i would not get that again. All in all i would definitely come back here for dinner.

I came here with a group and our waitress was great. Appetizers we got bang bang shrimp, coconut shrimp, and crab cakes all very very good! I got the lobster thermidor for dinner. My mahi mahi was a lite over cooked but still good. I'll definitely be back.

The worst service and food - also a total scam! Where to begin? The rude waitress, being told they were out of 2 kinds of fish, 2 entrees, and then being charged DOUBLE for our meal because they HAD to sub in another fish, the hair in our food?, the waitress giving the off shift waitress next to us free food and drinks, and then complaint about us to her later? Truly the worst meal and service I have ever had. The fish I did get was just smothered in cheese. We had hair in our drinks AND food. And our waitress was rude, mean, and was clearly scamming us to get a bigger tip. Will never go back. Save your money - you'll get a better meal and service at McDonalds!

Bang bang is the the thing that keeps us coming back over and over. Was there a few weeks ago and my fellow diner's steak came out medium when ordered well. The dishes are beautifully done.

Service was terrible, the ceviche is not a ceviche sorry. the fish taco were terrible - oily and without flavor, the burger was burned, and the kids refused to eat mac and cheese for the first time EVER. My daughter ended up eating the broccoli (I guess thats a good thing). the Coconut shrimp were superb though. So... by the way other reviews look, its a crapshoot what you will get. Oh and the "gratin" was nuked in the microwave. The place itself is very nice on the face of it.

I have never been to one of these places before and I have to say I was impressed. I did have to wait with my girlfriend for over an hour to get a table, but that was our fault because we did not make reservations. With that said, the manager of the place came around a few times with appetizer samplers for us to try out and hold us over while we waited. During the meal he stopped by a few times to make sure our meal was good and offered us a free appetizer the next time we came since we waited so long. The food itself, was very good. I highly suggest getting the popcorn shrimp to snack on. This place would have gotten four stars on the food alone, but it gets a fifth star for the good service

Food is good. Service is horrible. Do yourselves a favor and get people who aren't rude and nasty to take care of front of the house. They don't care about their job and it shows. Oh, and your outside wait area cushions are DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! You make enough money, buy some new ones....

I had the best experience here and it was all because of Samantha K. I went there( 4/25/15) with a friend of mine that I get to see every once in a blue moon and when we get together we pick a place to meet for dinner. She had never been to Bonefish so we were going. She had to try the bang bang shrimp. Anyways.. The food was really good and I tried many different things that I usually wouldn't have because we had a very friendly and knowledgeable server named Samantha. She mentioned she was new but she had it down. Any questions I had she was very helpful when it came to drinks, apps and the food. I ended up spending over $100 for an amazing meal. Please keep that girl happy and give her a raise. You need people like that working in your place of business. She was trained well. I hadn't come back to this place in a long time because I went for my birthday and was treated poorly by the server and she really didn't care to explain food options or even come back to check on if I needed a drink. It was a bad birthday dinner. That was over a year ago. I am so glad to give this place another chance. Because of Samantha I will go back to this place again and hope I get her again. Many times people only want to make reviews complaining. I wanted to make sure that she was recognized and I hope the company recognizes her as well. Some companies don't care to take care of good employees so please be sure to treat her well. I forgot to mention that besides the fact that my friend loved the bang bang shrimp, I had the best Salmon dish. Thank you!!!!!

Came here last night and I really enjoyed this place! The bang bang shrimp was AMAZING. I think that was the second timd I've ever had bang bang shrimp and that was definitely better tasting than i could've remembered. My date had Tilapia Imperial which he said he's had before and really enjoyed. I had the crab cakes which were tasty as well. Wish they were a little faster with refilling drinks but it was crowded when we were there so I understood and our waiter Michael was nice. I think I will be back!

For a chain restaurant this is good. In particular, Dalanio our server was terrific! His approach was refreshingly honest and gave great recommendations on what to eat and what not to eat. My husband and I had the Grill Menu - Arctic Char and Lobster. Both good.

I have been up and down with Bonefish lately. Occasionally 5 stars but more recent 1 star for two reasons. About a month ago four of us dined out for my birthday. All of us ordered the sirloin and "crab cake?" I upgraded to filet ...upgraded on price only..what I received was "not a filet" The 6 oz portion of steak was a stretch and the crabcake was NOT a crabcake,,,it was only a spot of crab barely large enough to be garnish. I wrote a letter to the manager Kevin the next day and Kevin didn't have the courtesy to answer the letter or take a minute to telephone me. The servers are nice, the receptionist nice, the appetizers nice but the main course was a joke. There is nothing worse than leaving a restaurant hungry after spending $160.00 Almost forgot....they took "bacon wrapped scallops" off of the appetizer menu! Go figure!

  • Nikoletta S.

Bonefish is amazing!! On 9/27 we hosted a luncheon here for 77 people on extremely short notice. They bent over backwards to make us and our guests happy and OMG the food was incredible! The quality was extremely fresh! I swear they caught the imperial tilapia the day before :) which btw, is my favorite thing on the menu!! Don't miss out, I'm telling you, this place is the best!!

Everyone here has always been so nice. The food is good too! Definitely try the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad. It's awesome that they have Sunday brunch now! It starts at 10am and ends at 2pm. They have a Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict. =O!

Food is good however the service can be very spotty. Was there for lunch when there were only a few other guests and the waitress was MIA and the food took too long to come out

  • Susan F.

The waitress was very good. The bang bang shrimp also very good. I ordered a 6oz filet which was about 3" in diameter and i would really be surprised if it weighed 3oz. The mashed and broccoli were good, but not great. They don't even offer you a salad with your meal unless you want to pay more so make sure you aren't very hungry when you go there because you don't get much food. My husband ordered a Kolby burger and he wasn't impressed at all. They are really pricey and overall I would say it was just ok. But for the price they charge, I would definitely go elsewhere.

  • Kat W.

Love love love this place!!! Every time my boyfriend and I go here it's better than the last. The service is great and the food is always excellent. I would recommend if you go Thursday through Sunday that you make reservations because it is very popular and without a reservation you could be waiting for an hour or more. If you don't mind the wait it is so worth it.

Came with a friends for a late dinner. Tuna appetizer is still great. We split the pecan crusted trout. Still tasty. Service was also good. Bread used to come with a bigger plate of herbed olive oil - a bit salty but good.

Not sure what all the hype is about. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's just average. They have a decent beer selection, and good bread. I've gone with the crab cakes on multiple occasions and they always seem to be undercooked. The inside spills out all over. I'd rather spend the same money on a non-chain.

  • Annie T.

Solid chain restaurant with tasty seafood options and a bar that always seems to be packed. This place is surprisingly busy, even on weekends. Expect to wait for your table even if you have a reservation, but (in my opinion) the bang-bang shrimp make up for that once you are seated! Bang bang shrimp are $5 on Wednesdays only (about 1/2 price). In the Fall try the seasonal butternut squash ravioli.

  • Joyce C.

Great Teamwork and Good Food We are generally not chain restaurant visitors but there aren't a lot of choices for dinner and a movie in this area. We alway have a great meal and solid service. The teamwork exhibited by the staff is so good that last night we thanked the manager. Be sure to make a reservation. Even at 5:00 - 5:30 on a Friday evening there is a wait list.

I left this place shaking my head and wondering what all the excitement is about. I heard several people rave about bonefish. I finally tried it. I couldn't have been more disappointed. SMALL portions, high prices, mediocre food. I spent 50+ on a meal for 3 and I feel like a complete fool for doing so.

I had a great time here. My friend lives out in PA, and my sister and I went to visit her to get in some girl time and shopping at some of the outlets. After an exhausting day of shopping (What!? Carrying all our shopping bags was hard work!) my friend took me here for a celebratory post-birthday dinner. Our appetizers were delicious: Bang Bang Shrimp and Crab Cakes--superb! I enjoyed a Chilean Sea Bass topped with a mango salsa, which added a sweet contrast to my dish. And what better than a pomegranate martini to seal the deal, good times in PA!

If you make a reservation, make certain if you want a booth; make your reservation with a request for a booth. We had a reservation and who would have thought to request a booth. When we get there they want to sit us in the middle where no one was sitting yet & there were 4 empty booths, we asked if we could have a booth and they wouldn't give one to us as they said they were for reservations which we had but not for a booth. Go figure, who knew. Watched for 20 minutes before all the booths were occupied After that, if you are hungry, you are out of luck, the food we ordered was such small portioned that it was an appetizer at any "good" restaurant. It was like they used a very small ice-cream scoop to serve the vegetables, and placed them on the same plate as the entrée (I guess to make it look like more). VERY DISSAPOINTED.

A nice bar area, consistent food with a bent towards seafood as you'd expect. Nice option is they offer small and large portions of many of their entrees. I am real particular about not having my grilled fish over cooked. They delivered my grilled salmon done 100% perfectly medium rare! A good middle of the week place to dine.

Went to brunch today and here was our experience. We walked in to a nearly empty restaurant. After a minute, the hostess came over and told us to wait while she cleared off the table? We were seated and, shortly after, our friendly waiter Mike came over. He was attentive, polite and very friendly during the whole time, though service overall seemed to be moving at a slower pace than expected. A table near us waited for over twenty minutes between having their appetizer order (a bowl of edamame) taken and seeing their waitress again. We went through our drinks a couple of times waiting for our food. We ordered the ceviche appetizer and our son's kid-meal first. The kid's-meal did come out first, after a slightly longer than reasonable wait (for popcorn shrimp and fries) and soon after, our ceviche appetizer appeared. The ceviche was good, but not great. The fish was extremely firm and in small chunks. It was slightly over-acidic. But it wasn't bad; the only part that I really didn't like were the pieces of shredded lettuce. I guess I just don't expect to see shredded lettuce in ceviche. We ordered eggs benedict for our brunch entrees; my husband ordered the bang-bang shrimp eggs bennie and I ordered the "surf 'n turf" eggs bennie. It took quite a while for our entrees to arrive. During this time, it seemed most of the waitstaff was making rare appearances in the dining room as many tables seemed to be waiting simultaneously for some service. Maybe something was happening in the back. We speculated about a superbowl watching party happening in the kitchen. Though our waiter was really on the ball when we did see him and we could not say anything bad about him at all. The eggs benedict entrees finally arrived and they were rather disappointing. My "surf 'n turf" eggs bennie was described as having "filet mignon and lobster". So I was anticipating something amazing. A few thin slices of beef and absolutely zero bits of lobster sat atop a huge, dry, bland english muffin with a nicely poached eggs and a rationed-looking portion of below-average hollandaise sauce. It was barely seasoned. I took a few bites, realized the lobster was MIA, and waited for our waiter's return. My husband's bang-bang shrimp eggs bennie wasn't great, either. His had a spicy hollandaise that was the same kind of "seasoning packet"-tasting hollandaise sauce with some extra spice added. At least it was seasoned. The fried shrimps sat on top of a totally dry, tasteless muffin and were topped with a nicely poached egg. His potatoes gratin (on the side) were tasty and cooked well. My side of asparagus was cooked very well and had great texture and good flavor. When our waiter returned, he was apologetic on behalf of their cook/chef for the lack of lobster. He offered a replacement and I accepted. I was not thinking of how long it would take. When the replacement arrived, it had minced "imitation crab" for lobster. It also had an eggshell, and a piece of melted plastic inside. It was pretty awful. It looked like they took the strips of "filet mignon" which had a nice pink color the first time around, reheated them (they were overdone) and threw them back on the muffin for this second round. The manager brought this replacement entree with a rushed apology. She then jumped over to the table next to us to chat with some friends of hers who were there, and talked about some medical issues she has been having. I felt compassion for her but also felt like Sunday brunch at Bonefish is definitely not something anyone is taking seriously, not the manager or the hostess and definitely not the cook. Again, our waiter was super friendly and polite and the bright spot on an otherwise dismal time. We will not be returning to this restaurant. We so rarely go out to eat as it is, that we would not waste our opportunity to do so, at this particular restaurant.

In these recessionary times, it takes a big jerk to wish a business ill. I'm ready to step up and be that jerk. For you all, of course. There is nothing abnormally wrong about this place. We were not upset at the service. Our waiter was perfectly nice, attentive, pleasantly chirpy. There is nothing wrong with the decor. The look of the place is really quite nice. I'd have a drink here and enjoy it. I might even forget that I'm in the middle of a suburban nowhere. The concept could be ok, even for a chain. I've been to places that do grilled fish well enough in this basic format. The problem is with the submediocrity of the whole package. Nothing was bad, nothing was particularly good. The whole place at every level feels like it was grown in a vat full of MBAs rather than cooks. A plate arrives at the table and it feels less like grilled grouper or crab cakes and more like a big serving of "The Restaurant and Hospitality Industry". You can taste the conference rooms and PowerPoint presentations more than you can taste butter, lemon or fish. Actually, I take it back, the Bang Bang Shrimp tasted actually bad, despite the star on it that the consultants decided is a way to let you know that by gosh, people really like it. It's basically shrimp with a deep-fry coating slathered by spicy ranch dressing: it has a mayonnaise-ish taste with an unpleasant aftertaste of "I Came From a Food Service Can Flavor". The shrimp themselves are at least ok, plump enough and not overcooked, so thank heavens for small favors.

We went on a saturday afternoon, the place was fairly packed. Service was pretty good. Don't care so much about the food we ordered though. Singapore Calamari was ok but greasy. The sauce tasted a little odd, sweat sour and spicy. The Tai noodle was not good at all. I did not eat much but still took it home just to be polite. Had been to Bonefish in Exton, loved it. Not sure is the food we ordered that's not good or the location. But I don't think I will be back again.

Food is delicious but there is a shocking lack of professionalism by the bartenders. Side bets to insult other servers and personal conversations were part of our atmosphere.

I have been here a few times. My visit this time was exceptionally great. It was because our waitress Christa J. was very attentive and kept making sure we were doing okay. She even came over with ice when she noticed the ice in our cups had melted. That was the first time I have experienced detail to that extent. Thanks Christa! The food as usual is great as expected.

This place was hellabusy on a Thursday night - it's supposed mean that it's good & it definitely was. The prices were a little steep but the food was great. Our waitress, Natalie, was AWESOME. She made sure that my dad's food allergy was attended to (allergic to shellfish - go figure that his favorite food is seafood - poor guy!). Our drinks were always full & she was thorough when answering all our questions. I'll definitely be back!

This is a great place to come when you feel sociable and fishy. I usually don't like to go to chains for a sit down meal if I don't have to, but Bonefish is fun, and it's one of the only places around me in Media that I've enjoyed getting seafood for a reasonable price. They have an amazing Bang Bang Shrimp that is almost too big to finish with one other person. Last time I went there was a prixe fix menu for 2 that offered 4 different fish dishes, and a salad (which I was able to substiute the normal selections with the salad special, beet with goat cheese...mmmmmm) for $19.99. I've never had a problem with the customer service like some other reviewers, in fact quite the opposite. Last time we had one of the most attentive waiters we've had in a while, and it was during a really busy night. I didn't get his name, but based on his service I vow to get waiters' names from here on out.

In Philly suburbia visiting my little Sister this week. She is always fawning over this place and their Bang Bang Shrimp plus she works at Carrabba's which is also part of the "Outback" sling of restaurants thus she gets a good discount here - so we have that going for us which is nice. Started with an order of the Bang Bang and the bacon wrapped scallops which were perfectly cooked. I will leave out the gory details about my brother in-law realizing he has a scallop/shellfish allergy AFTER he ate two of them. Needless to say I found the ensuing events highly entertaining. For those without the aforementioned affliction, by all means indulge. Shrimp was aiiight. I like the light breading but the Bang Bang to me was nothing more than a slightly spiced aoli sauce that was slathered to the hilt on those poor crustaceans. I was good after eating about 4 of 'em. For my entree, I wound up getting the Chilean "Kick His Ass" Sea Bass with the Pan Asian saucing. No that's not what it's called on the menu but I like "Dumb and Dumber" so deal with it. I am not sure if it's real Chilean because I thought that stuff was on the endangered species list but what do I know... didn't have time to use "The Google" to research whether or not they use responsible, sustainable fishing practices or what type of trawler and bait they used etc. All I know is it was mighty tasty and perfectly cooked. If you fancy the "Butterfish" at Roy's, which I know I do, this is a solid alternative. Sis got the Kobe Beef burger which she stated was tasty in between heaping mouthfulls. I know, I know...a Kobe Burger at a fish house? She's 5 months pregnant so we will let that one slide this time only. And here to think I always thought mercury was good for a young fetus... so much to learn. I at least know kobe is not good for a young calf but that's a different story... Mooohoohahaha! Shout out to Camar who provided stellar tableside service as well.

Bonefish is a chain that recently entered the Philadelphia area market. I had been to one in Ohio and another in Florida some years back. Both were fairly good so decided to try the new location in Newtown Square. The restaurant, a clone of the others I'd been to, has a very pleasant, slightly upscale look. I wanted a good piece of fish. Having lived in Miami for many years-I have found the Mainline of Philly fairly anemic when it comes to getting fresh fish prepared well. Even many high-end restaurants in the area seem to miss when it comes to fish. With fish, simple is better. Simple seasoning, light sauce if any. To be brief, the food at Bonefish Grill was ok, not stellar. My fish came slathered in a spice rub. Not what you want with sea bass. The sauce (yes, also came sauced) was fine, but i scraped off as much rub as possible. But the fish was cooked to perfection. Also had a shrimp appetizer. The scrimp was perfectly prepared but drowned in a heavy sauce! They really have a thing with "bold" flavors. IT would be so much better if they were a little more subtle. But many chains suffer the same flaw. If you go, maybe ask for for no rub/coating and sauce on the side. Bottomline: A chain, but better than a lot of other restaurants in the area- and they do indeed cook fish and shellfish well.

I love Bonefish! I don't get to eat here as much as I would like because it's not around the corner. But I would never turn down the opportunity to eat here. If you are thinking about it and wanting to give a new place a try - check it out! The seafood is delicious. Fresh and cooked to perfection, you can't go wrong with any choice. On the few times I have been, I have had the shrimp and scallops and the Chilean sea bass and on one very special occasion, I ordered a special of filet mignon topped with three shrimp, scampi style. AMAZING. I always choose the pan-asian sauce for my preparation but all of them sound equally delish. As others have said and I will restate: the Bang Bang Shrimp is amazing. It is flavorful with a bit of a kick and perfect for sharing. I am actually thinking that my next visit might just include drinks and BBS at the bar. Speaking of the bar - the bar area and high top communal tables are lively and just an all around nice scene. If you get there without a reservation (I suggest making one if you really want to sit in the dining room without a wait) and want to eat right away, grab a stool or a spot at a large table. There is plenty of elbow room to enjoy a full meal in this area. I am not a die-hard fan, nor am I a hater of chains but Bonefish will always hold a special place in my heart as a clean, friendly, tasty place that I will always come back to again and again.

We have been wanting to give Bonefish a try,, against my better judgement I did. I'm not too big on corporate dining, all the meals are the same and the staff are trained to welcome you by, my name is ........ and I'll be your server. So 1973. We arrived an hour before closing and the hostess didn't know what servers had been cut for the evening so I was ushered around the dining room until she found us a section that was open, but the table had to be set so we stood there. Once we were greeted with the, my name is..... she asked if I dined with them before. No. So thus opened the door for a short review of the employee training manual. Things just went down hill from there. Food being served without silverware, courses coming on top of one another. To the point that we had dirty plates on the table when dinner was served. The the food part. Tuna app was great ( that's the two stars) Shrimp app with feta was over sauced and the shrimp were no bigger then 31-40's, very sad. Ceaser salad had no dressing. Salmon salad was OK, I've had better at pubs. My dinner has cooked fine but had water on the plate from the steamed veggies, not what I want with my crab cake. So just not a good experience overall

The four of us went to Bonefish Grill in Newtown Square, PA for the first time and loved it! Three of us had fish dinners, and one had crab cakes, which he said were the best he's ever had. Our waiter was very attentive and explained everything patiently and slowly. Although it was crowded and noisy, we were able to enjoy conversation and had a pleasant time. We agreed we would all come back again!

I am a pretty big fan of Bonefish. My family doesn't really eat red meat so when I take my parents out it is typically to a seafood place. I don't know if this is a franchise but at each location that I have ever been to the servers are great! I'm giving this place 5 stars because one of the servers was so nice! I came here with two of my friends. Apparently, he was extremely charming and pulled out their chairs. When I arrived late, he shook my hand and introduced himself. I honestly should have remembered his name but I don't. I have never had a server shake my hand. Props man. You make Bonefish more awesome!

By far the best Atlantic salmon I ever had! They have yummy garlic mashed potatoes and the asparagus is good as well. So far I've tried the pineapple drink and the new watermelon martini. The service is awesome. They greet you with a warm smile and the atmosphere is always positive

Extremely disappointed. Came here on recommendation that the food was good and portions large. Instead, we had tiny portions with poor presentation. My ahi tuna was medium well despite asking for rare. Salad had wilted greens and tasteless tomato... and a sliver of avocado. I also don't get why they sat at the table next to the entrance while the restaurant was almost empty... Or why they took my plate well before my date was done. One last thing: snap peas need the ends cut off. Cmon.

Came with my boyfriend on a Friday night and we were promptly seated and greeted by our server. Service overall was great! The bread with olive oil was warm and delicious. For an appetizer we got the bang bang shrimp - huge serving and just as great as everyone here says. It was crispy and spicy. I could've eaten that as my meal. For entrees he got a mahi mahi special with lobster Thermidor which he loved. I got the grilled tuna with the pan Asian sauce. The tuna was cooked medium just as I asked and I absolutely loved the sweet-spicy-salty Asian sauce. It definitely went great with the tuna. For sides I got the grilled zucchini medley which was pretty bland but the mashed potatoes were creamy and well seasoned. We also each ordered a sangria (him red and me white) the red was great but the white was kind of mediocre and not too flavorful. The price for drinks wasn't great either. Overall good experience though. I would return.

I went to the Bonefish Grill to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had reservations and were seated immediately even though we were about 20 minutes early. We ordered wine (Jacob's Creek moscato) and Bang Bang shrimp to start. I had the crab cakes and the birthday girl had twin lobster tails. Everything was delicious. I thought the crab cakes were small but that was the only negative about the dinner. The waitress was so attentive and was the most pleasant server I have ever had. I wish that I would remember her name. She answered our questions and really took her time with us because it was our first visit. I would go back. Bonefish is now one of my favorites!

Very dissapointed with dinner last evening. One drink arrived had to ask twice for the other even though my drink was a ''special" I was told it was difficult to make and bartender was busy ? Food was warm at best..I usually frequent Bonefish at least once a month but that will change no plates for appatizer waited for bread was told it was still in oven. I don't blame the server who was very nice but bartending and kitchen staff need improvement

Do you like overpriced, bland, or overly salty food? Do you enjoy pathetically small portions? Do you appreciate waiting an hour for your lackluster food, even when the restaurant isn't even half full? Better yet, do you enjoy being the only group waiting in the lobby for 30 minutes for a table only to finally walk into the dining room and notice there are multiple tables that are already open? If any of the above apply to you, this is your restaurant! A restaurant where you approach the hostess desk and stand there awkwardly as the hostess blatantly ignores you. A restaurant where they serve you subpar vegetables that look like they have been previously frozen and expired roughly a week or two ago. A restaurant where one orders the 6oz sirloin and crab cake combo but only gets approximately 3 oz. of overcooked steak and a golf ball sized, salty crab cake. A restaurant that has been on a steady decline and seems to lack overall appreciation for the paying customer. Simply put, we will not revisit this establishment.
